The Wimbledon club was established by Sempai Matt Bolt and Sempai Ellie Murphy in January 2010 after they both moved to the London area. After successfully establishing the junior class, the first club grading was held in May 2010 where the junior members achieved their 10th kyu grade.
Sempai Matt Bolt took over teaching at Sevenoaks KJK in 2012 and Sempai Ellie Murphy moved away from Wimbledon in 2014. Her old instructor Shihan Tim Goullet then took over the running of the club in March 2014.
The club continues to grow from strength to strength, with students competing in local and national association events, gaining from the experience of the instructors who have competed at the national level and are members of the Karate Jutsu Kai National Squad. Shihan Tim Goullet 6th Dan, is a sports graduate and a qualified osteopath who has been training for more than 30 years.
Shihan Tim was drawn to Karate Jutsu initially as a very practical self defence system. The more he trained, the more he realised how good it was for fitness – strength, flexibility, balance, and cardiovascular health – in short, the best all-round way to train the body and focus the mind.
Through his time training in Karate Jutsu he has competed in numerous tournaments, being one of the associations most successful competitors.
Shihan Tim continues to study directly under Kaicho Bernard Creton and has a passion for sharing his knowledge and experience at all opportunities across the association clubs.
